Support Materials

In addition to providing on-site support and assistance, extensive support materials are available. Enhancing Leadership Effectiveness: Strategies for Establishing and Maintaining Effective Organizations will:

  • Assist leaders in translating improvement priorities into action plans,

  • Help leaders gain new understandings concerning their behavior and how it impacts the effectiveness of their administrative unit, and

  • Provide a comprehensive summary for each of the ten dimensions of Organizational Health. (Each of the ten chapters provides a solid theoretical foundation as well as practical, tried-and-tested strategies for improving that specific dimension.)
Enhancing leadership effectiveness materials have been designed to assist leaders in improving the Organizational Health of their administrative units. All leaders receive one or two chapters so that they may focus their energies on specific dimensions.

Each chapter contains a strong theoretical and conceptual base as well as pragmatic strategies for translating these concepts into action. Throughout the materials leaders are encouraged to improve the Organizational Health of their administrative units by any one or a combination of the following:

  • Changing their behavior,

  • Changing the behavior of work unit members,

  • Changing structures within the organization, and

  • Letting individuals know the "whys" behind management decisions.
Assessing the Organizational Health of administrative units on an annual basis provides an objective and reliable method of focusing organizational energies on continuous improvement for leaders and members of their units. When leaders model perpetual learning, it will have a positive impact upon members of their teams.

As a result of improved Organizational Health, one can predict that the level of organizational productivity will also increase.
